What makes NursePartners different from other Home Care providers?

  • NursePartners is owned and operated by clinicians.
  • Our customer service is impeccable. We view each client and each clinician as our valued customer. Each is treated with respect and an important member of our family.
  • Our commitment to delivering quality care to the aging population is our specialty and our passion.
  • NursePartners’ approach to services is highly individualized, and supervised by Registered Nurses regularly.

How do I know if my Certified Nursing Assistant is qualified to care for my parent?

NursePartners adheres to the highest standards for hiring our staff. Each applicant participates in a thorough interview, competency testing, and paid orientation prior to shift procurement.

The interview questions are situational and require the applicant to discuss customer service, clinical procedure and emergency response, teamwork, prioritization skills, reliability & dependability, the ability to recognize significant changes in condition and ability to communicate to all contacts. A minimum of one year’s experience in the long-term care setting is an eligibility requirement.

Additionally, a passing score of 80% is required on our competency test to continue the hire process.

NursePartners requires  2  years’ experience in the long-term care setting. The phrase “long-term care setting” may include a variety of clinical roles and responsibilities. We ensure that all employment expectations are established on the front end of our employment process. In an effort to establish these expectations, our company paid orientation is mandatory. Included are such topics as:

  • Exceeding Customer Expectations
  • Disease and Condition Management with an emphasis on the Alzheimer’s client
  • Rehabilitation/Restorative Nursing (assisting to achieve/maintain a client’s highest level of functioning)
  • Infection Control (and all mandatory trainings required by ACHC)
  • Time Management

Angela Geiger, RN, Founder and Owner is very hands-on and highly involved in the hire process. It is important to Angela that she conducts each orientation for all employees hired by NursePartners.

How do I reach someone after hours?

Outside of normal business hours, an administrative person on-call (with clinical expertise!) is always available. The main number of the NursePartners office is forwarded at the end of each business day and over the course of the weekend. The call will go directly to the cellular phone of the individual assigned to on-call responsibilities. Additionally, a back-up person (again, with clinical expertise),  and usually Angela Geiger, RN, the Founder and CEO, are always available to the NursePartners on-call clinician. Essentially, you have two persons available to you 24/7!

How long is the wait time for services?

NursePartners’ goal is for caregivers to be available to start within 24 hours, and often within the same day the client is referred. The initiation of services includes a comprehensive clinical assessment (there is no charge for the initial assessment) conducted by a nurse. Then a Plan of Care will be established and written for all (including YOU!) to review. YOU are a welcome member of the care planning team and may choose to be as involved as you like in this process.

Do you require a commitment to a minimum of hours and days a week in order to provide care?

Our commitment is to the needs of the client. The minimum visit is two hours which may be scheduled one day per week if that is all the care that is required.

If I have a Certified Nursing Assistant or nurse that works well with us, are we able to have the same caregiver all the time?

We believe quality of care is directly related to consistency of care. Depending on the hours each day and the days of the weeks you request, our goal is for each client to have the same caregiver. It is our goal to strive to obtain consistency of care for clients so that we provide the highest quality care.

We match a permanent team of caregiver(s) to the individualized needs of each client.

Are your services covered by Medicare?

No, NursePartners is not a Medicare agency. We are a licensed private duty home care agency.

Are NursePartners’ services covered by insurance?

We accept assignment of benefits from an insurer. The remaining balance for care that is not covered by the insurer will be billed directly to you. We connect clients to our insurance verification department where they will verify your benefits under your current plan.

Are your services available in nursing homes or assisted living facilities?

Absolutely! We believe it is important to age in place. If the primary residence is a nursing home,  assisted living facility, or private residence, we feel, “There is No Place Like Home!” We are delighted to work with our clients in a variety of settings.

What if my Certified Nursing Assistant is sick and cannot make it to my house?

We  establish (with your input and approval) a permanent caregiver and a relief caregiver. You will have met both the permanent and relief caregivers. In the event of a call-out or request for time off, we will rely on your relief caregiver.
