About the Program:

The Parkinson’s Disease & Movement Disorders Center of the University of Pennsylvania has a long and distinguished history of treating people with Parkinson’s and other movement disorders. As one of the leading centers in the world for the comprehensive treatment of these conditions, our mission is to provided state of the art care and education to both professionals and the public. A National Parkinson Foundation Center of Excellence, we have information on the latest treatments to offer people with PD as well as educate the general public.  However, with the rapid dissemination of information these days it can be difficult to glean what is fact and what is fiction. This can be particularly frustrating to those battling a disease like PD, hoping to hear good news from the medical community. This program will address areas where progress is being made and address some of the topics that have been in the news lately.  In addition to offering presentations, we have invited community providers who may have relevant information or services that could be helpful in managing PD.
